First up
Gorgeous Ginger, who's talents after her swinging 60's life style, took a turn towards home making. But not giving up all the joys of that era, still prefers cooking in the kitchen with those fish net stocking on! We used to call it BA!
Way to go Ginger!
Next
We have the Absolutely Awesome Amber, who just never could pass up the chance to dance in the streets. While Marilyn Monroe passed away in 1962, Amber still chooses to re-live that fabulously famous pose,
and at this age no less! Bitchin!
Finally
We have every one's favorite bar hop, Ravishing Roxy!
Oh, that Gilhooley's bar will never be the same again.
:-)
She can still put "her" twist on the place, after all these years!
Complete with a drag, and a tattoo too. Is that like a double negative?
LOL!!
So there you have it, 3 of the most fabulous broads of the 60's, still living life to the fullest. (no pun intended, yea right)
;-)
Looks like the moral to this story is, that no one really has to grow up!
60's baby...
That's real flower power!
(compliments of photobucket)
I've got to admit that looking thru the Official 60's web site, was like a blast to the past!
Memba these...
FINK
DIG
HICKEY
MOON
NEATO
They sure made me chuckle!
Ohhh, and that that famous slug bug game?
I can't tell you just how many bruises my arm suffered due to those darn little cars!
I sure don't remember the safety pin clause either.
What about you?
Those were the days my friend!

Moose Stash Quilting ( your here)
PS: if your wonderin' these beauties are more of those fun patterns from the Quiltery in Australia! You now I just can't get enough of em!
You have the sickest humor that I just ADORE!! What fun it would be to sew along side you - although no drinks allowed as I might be spewing it with a laugh or peeing my pants. There were so many wonderful things about the 60's - I have to go with our little 'bug' - we went on many adventures with that car.
ReplyDeleteAaaah, you just made my day!!!! I nearly swallowed a fire-hot-coffee when I saw your trio!!!! Great, I am still giggling, waouh, those legs and... well, well done!!!!! Great use of the fabrics, really, I adore them all, but my fav might be the cooking girl, because that is the place where I am most, after the sewing room :-))
ReplyDeleteYou did it again, always sew original in ideas, great ladies you portraited, thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteLove your 60's chicks. The slug bug game is still around, you know. They call it "punch buggy" now. I know because I drive a pretty yellow one of the new beetles and I see kids doing it as I drive by. Still hilarious. Thanks for the chuckle today. Great job.
ReplyDeleteTrust you to come up with these lovely ladies! They do look fabulous. Amazing stitching!
ReplyDeleteWhat do I remember most about the 60s - the clothes of course!!!

ReplyDeleteSuch fun ladies, and they look wonderful in batiks. Unfortunately I don't have any memories of the 60's, mainly because I wasn't born yet, but I do remember watching all the Beach Party movies with my siblings during the summers when I was younger. Not sure if they embodied the true 60's, but they were fun shows!
ReplyDeleteOh my, what fun ladies! Those were the days. Congratulations on being in the top two today. Thank lyou for being part of this groovy hop!
ReplyDeleteHilarious! Thank you for the laugh this morning! All three are adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory from the 60's? I met my husband when I was 16 in 1966. He was the best thing I've ever found!!!
Yess, those were the days,,,, Just amazing ladies. I'm out of words.....
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory, sitting on an island with and old wooden sailing boat to maintain, and listening to Bob Dylan... in the sunshine, with my boyfriend.
What more could anyone wish for???
Love your 'Ladies'. The memories of the 60's all kind of run together with the music, what was going on in the world with wars, space, protests, etc., - nope didn't do 'MJ' but it all was sure an eye opening time. I was more a flower child than anything else. Thanks for the humor.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great start to my day. Your ladies are such fun, I love the Tat. Congrats on being one of the choosen. i'm tied between the clothes and the music for my best memories of the 60's.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't around in the 60's... but I have to say if the last gal was a blond it would be me! Tattoo and all! Have you had someone salking me!? LOL
ReplyDeleteWow ! Your naughty ladies are works of art ! I am totally impressed !
ReplyDeleteLook at your ladies!!! Wow! Thank you for showing them to us! I have to say that I am from the 80's and that I don't have memories, but the pictures of my parents are fantastic. My mom with her long hair and her mini skirts : )
ReplyDeleteI married in 1960 so I had to settle down and be a good wife.
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness! Your ladies are so funny and so adorable. You really made my day. I enjoyed seeing them this morning. You did such a fantastic job. Thank you for sharing. My favorite memories of the 60's are going to the drive-in movie theater with the person that I eventually married.

ReplyDeleteyou did a fantastic job. these ladies are wonderful. cant choose which I like best. except maybe ginger. used to do this with my hubby a lot. LOL still do. don't remember much of the sixties. was born in '58 oh wait I remember the bell bottoms and hip huggers. mom wouldn't let me wear mini skirts except around the house. thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThese made me laugh! I have no personal memories of the 60s, but I love the music!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing. It has improved my spirit today just getting a chuggle out of those. Just a girl running around with my four brothers was my life of the 60's. I was actually born in 1960, the beginning of that era. Life was so simple then. We can't wait to grow up but some days I wish I was just that little girl again. You do amazing work and always enjoy seeing what you come up with next.
ReplyDeleteThose are some beautiful babes you created here! I love the detail, and especially fell for Ginger.... Cooking will never be the same again! I managed to miss the sixties (born in 1970, so only just). I do love the freaky colours and the music of course. This was a real fun post. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOmg those are hysterical!!!
ReplyDeleteOmg.....just fabulous...I love love love them! I was born in 1969. So I have no true memories of the era. Just figure I should have been born earlier. I would have been a peace loving hippie chic for sure.
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh outrageously. Being a preteen and teen throughout the sixties I never thought much about what the older, more sophisticated gals were up to. Hilarious. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThose gals made me laugh! Cute designs. It has been fun to see all the creativity. Thanks for the give away. Nancy: rangerer@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteLove these gals! My favorite 60's memory is the funky clothes I was allowed to wear! Looking at some of those pictures makes me crack up!
ReplyDeleteLoved all three of your ladies! Great job! I was born in 1960 and remember all of us watching Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. That was 1969, the same year my brother was born.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a super giveaway and the chance to win.
usairdoll(at)gmail(dot)com
Love all of your ladies! They made me smile. The only thing that I remember that happened in the 60's was when JFK was killed.
ReplyDeleteI love love the ladies. You went above and beyond with this hop. I was young in the 60's, but do remember bell bottoms.

Oh, the 60's--high school, college, peace marches, long hippy dresses and folk music--many good memories. These most memorable would have to be my wedding day, Nov. 28, 1968--45 years ago this year. I love, love these saucy ladies. I had to laugh out loud! Excellent work!
ReplyDeleteThe Love Bug and free spirit. 24Tangent@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThose gals are FUNNY! I loved wearing the mini skirts and boots in the 60's. I always felt so "HIP" in them. Love the fabric you are giving away. Thanks!!!!!

Oh My Groovy Goodness! You have me totally laughing with these awesome ladies of the 60's. Hippies never grow up. Your sense of humor is wicked good. Thank you for hopping. Creative Stitching Bliss...
ReplyDeleteFar out! That looks like tie-dyed fabric that was certainly popular in the 60's and the style still can be found at booths at crafts festivals today. Those healthy ladies are groovy, but I think Marilyn would have been the only one around then. Maybe a protester at a Vietnam War rally or a couple attending a rock concert smoking weed would be reminiscent of those memorable times. I lived through it, growing up in SF, but escaped to a more traditional environment for college. My daughter lives in the "Haight' now because it's close to work. My husband's family had a business at Haight/Asbury during those times. We now live in the 'burbs but are moving back while our house is being renovated. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteRosemary
tears from laughing. love your "ladies". just to let you know I have grandkids that play slug bug and since they are quicker than i am my arm has felt that "slug" many times.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh all the way through this post. I love it. The sixties were where it was if you know what I mean. Cruising through all the rootbeer stands in our souped up old cars was my favorite thing. Cruise night we called it. Love those sixties.
ReplyDeleteWow, those '60's ladies sure are living life to the fullest. Great job.
ReplyDeleteOMGoodnes!! lol... Those ladies are fabulous - Fantastic job.
ReplyDeletexo jan
These are hilarious! Love them!
ReplyDeleteYour "ladies" are too funny. You really went above and beyond with these three fabulous designs. Glad you shared them with us.
ReplyDeleteLove those gals! Ginger is my fav....LOVE her!!!
ReplyDeletewow, you did a lot of work on these funny ladies. Your gift looks very interesting. I would love to have the chance to win it and think of something fun to make. thanks
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask how you managed to capture my backside and thighs when we have never met in person, LOL. Bless these girls who have kept on keepin' on. Just like the rest of us old broads. Well done! THX for the giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeleteLove love love this post doll...makes me want to bring out my jeans skirt and peasant top and watch Woodstock. Everything you mentioned I remember...what a Blast this Batik Blog Hop is to read.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Bandstand. Every day after school.
ReplyDeleteYou quilts make me laughing out loud, wonderful work and a great post.
ReplyDeleteThanks! ☺☺☺
Those were my school years, so many great times. I do remember the first time I heard the 1st Beatles album. A group of us girls were trying to find music for a marching routine for our HS Drill team and one of the girls had this new album. I'd heard them on Ed Sullivan but to hear song after song. Love at first chord! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThose are three delightful gals.....great applique work! Thanks for sharing with us. I enjoyed the mini skirts....even had maternity clothes that were mini in 1970!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your bawdy batik beauties! Thanks for the fun. My memories of the sixties include my first Barbie doll, the golden arches, and the Beatles
ReplyDeleteI have never seen those gals in fabric before, sometimes at the local supermarket though. Hehehe! Great work!
ReplyDeleteOh, you made me laugh and laugh and laugh. The quilts are absolutely phenomenal. I didn't think they could get any better and each was as good as the previous, or better. I am still chuckling. I was watching a version of Match Game with host Bert Convey. The password was "hickey." Mclean Stevenson thought a hickey was a zit. Obviously, his partner didn't get the word correct. Thanks for participating, inspiring, and entertaining us.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Those are incredible and made me really chuckle. Don't they say that if you remember the 60s that you didn't live them??? Your work is soooo groovy!
ReplyDeleteFunky!!! :)
ReplyDeleteRoxi, Amber, and Ginger are hot, hot, hot and bitchin', too! Glad they never gave up the 60s. Your quilts are just totally groovin'. And...I didn't miss the moose until just now. That's ok cuz your girls are bad ass. I think my husband got me with his "What's your bag?" and we're still groovin to the 60s tunes and doing 'the twist' with Chubby Checker!
ReplyDeleteMuahahahaha. These are awesome!!! .......Or should I say these quilts are boss!
