You know that nothing in the world, tickles me more than Halloween. Nothing accept that "SewWeQuilt" blog hop that Madame Samm and Wendy cook up every year! Here's a 21 broom salute to you both!
Now to help me show you my posts today, I am going to ask for help from the "girls"...
Introducing to you, FIDGET, the Fairy Princess Witch.
although the jury is "still" out on that one, though!
You must admire her sparkle wings, made out of none other than screen door fabric though!
:-)
Then there is my favorite...
IMMA witch 2!
Those clay noses are such a hoot.
Imma keeps her constant companion, with her at all times!
These girls are patterns from Hollyhocks & Ivy in Draper Utah.
Are they just hilarious?
They were both watching over me, and prodding me on to finish up my project for the hop.
It's a BOM from Pearl Louise Designs, called Boo Hallow. I got these patterns as a gift last year frommy quiltin sista. When I went to start on the project this fall, I only had 11 of the 12 patterns. She had purchased them at a Quilt Expo that was in town. After failed attempts to contact the seller, I decided I had to come up with another option.

I enlarged one of her houses and was able to add it to my quilt! Rhonda, you saved the day! I could have ordered the missing pattern, and waited, but I was ready to start and you know how us quilters can be sometimes.
Now, I'm so embarrassed. As I sit down to write this post, I am looking for the patterns to give you all the information. Since the water damage with the rains last month, my sewing room us turned upside down. Can I find the patterns anywhere??? Heck no, but what I did find was that missing haunted house pattern! You know, the one I claim I never got. So glad I was not able to connect with the seller! LOL!!!!!
It's all good though, because I love my special "Rhonda" addition to this fun BOM!
Sorry Pearl, and thanks Rhonda, what else can I say!
:-)

My challenge on this, was that I chose to use a couple of fat quarter packs a friend gave me a couple of years ago. I love these fabrics and were saving them for something special!
None of them were Halloween colors.
Changing out all the colors to make them work was a fun!
It was a good reminder that you CAN use just about anything
For any project!
:-)
It makes me happy to be able to do a little stash busting!
and these guys seem pretty pleased too!
I know it's getting a bit long winded here, but there is just one more thing I wanted to share...
Did you happened to notice the dress on Fidget?
It's from Moda, and is called Witches Undies.
:-)
Oct 31, the last day of our hop, I will be picking a winner for this delightful panel, called Frank-N-Friends. (A Henry Glass fabric) While I know its to late to make it for this year, just think you'll have a start for next years blog hop!
:-)My fellow bloggers have put on their wicked hats, and come up with some delightfully scary projects for you today, so you'll what to hop on over and give them a peek... if your not too scared that is! ;-)

This is just too stinken' cute!! And adore your witches. That blue with yellow heart print in your piece - I had some of that and loved it to death in so many projects = right to the last smidge. I don't think I ever did a trick at Halloween - I prefered the treats.
ReplyDeleteWoW, WoW, WoW!!! I sew sew sew sew LOVE IT!!! Thanks so much for bringing a big smile to my face... That quilt is really awesome!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow all of your projects are fabulous - love those dolls. Also love that witches undies fabric - I am off to a quilting show tomorrow so might see if I can find it, we don't celebrate Halloween as much in England as you do in the States but you never know! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh I love all your Halloween projects. The witches undies fabric is sew awesome and the quilt Oh my. It is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAs we don´t have so much Halloween in Sweden, the shop owners try every year to get us used to it, I cant give you a memory from celebrating Halloween. But I love your give away and I hope the fabric will be mine, it is sew cool
Have a great day and thanks for sharing your creativity and being part of this hop
I love your witches! That fabric is just to funny! And your quilt is AMAZING! It looks so wickedly good! Bright and still spooky.....it is like magic. Perhaps those witches.....Anyway, moving on. We don't really celebrate Halloween in The Netherlands, so I don't have a trick to share. I do look forward to reading all the scary stuff that people will come up with! And maybe, try it out here....in January?
ReplyDeleteThe Witches Undies are showing - how wicked!!!! I adore your projects - they are awesome. The clay noses are wonderful. The turned up shoes are delightful with the oranges laces. Oh, I could go on and on and on about the details. And, the quilt is divine, Miss Joan. I love your house AND I never misplace a thing. I couldn't find my debit card today - lol Yep, I found it later.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a trickster. I'm a treating type of person. However, at the state fair this year I decided to buy a sewing machine cabinet. My best quilting buddess bought one, a cutting table, a serger and table last year. She got a deal including free delivery. So, they started telling me that they couldn't give me free delivery. Normally, I'd just accept that and proceed. However, I told them that my friend had purchased last year and received free delivery and they had even taken it all upstairs. The lady had handled the sale and said one of the delivery men had gotten a hernia taking the heavy furniture upstairs. Well, I ended up with free delivery and my sewing chair free, too. It was a trick that turned out to be a real treat.
What a story, haha! I'm not a really tricksy person so no stories here... But you have a great project, abd that witches' undies fabric is hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteGreat projects! We do not celebrate Halloween around here so not trick either.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I don't really have any halloween tricks. Not my thing. I do love your quilt. It is AH-MAZING!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any tricks but Thanks for hoping and sharing your creativity.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are lovely! I'm sure I must have stolen a piece of candy or two out of the bowl when mom wasn't looking many years ago. Thanks for sharing your talent!
ReplyDeleteThose are just awesome blocks and patterns. So much creativity and I so enjoyed seeing each block up close. You did a FINE job of executing everything and I loved it all. Wow and WOW! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletegood grief girlfriend! You have some amazing creations! LOVE the dolls and the quilt!
ReplyDeleteMy gosh, your post was awesome, inspiring!!! I made one Halloween quilt a few years ago and gave it to my son and his wife since they are the real Halloween lovers, but my goodness after seeing yours, I'm excited! I need to do some more Halloween quilting. Thanks for sharing, and for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteYOU WIN< I did not think it possible for ANYONE to love HALLOWEEN as much as I.....lol Alllll every one of your wicked projects I would treasure...treasure to embrace, celebrate and be inspired...YOU are really wicked you know lol
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love your witch dolls and the quilt. I made a witch doll a couple of years ago and she is one of my favorite things about Halloween. My trickiest trick will be this year. Since Halloween is falling on a schol day, while my son is in school I'm going to decorate his room :) Happy Halloween.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I am dizzy at the idea of so many adorable projects! And window screen fabric for wings -- brilliant! My worse Halloween trick is eating the first bags of candy I buy before Halloween ever rolls around, so that I have to scramble at the last hour to have enough for the little tricksters, lol.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite trick is to be watching for trick or treaters. When they come on the porch and just before they knock, I give my best unearthly HOWL from right inside the door then yank the door open. We have had a a few just run away. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteWhat fantastic projects!! Your post is wonderful to read.I've never actually tricked anyone on Halloween...dressed up to greet the kids once in awhile; maybe that scared them...hahaha
ReplyDeletewow - blown away by all of your amazing mini quilts, quilts, and gorgeous dolls (or should that be ghouly !) thanks so much for sharing :) I've never actually taken part in halloween so I can't share a trick - I think Halloween took quite a while to reach our aussie shores !
ReplyDeleteYour projects are all so wonderful I can't pick a favorite!
ReplyDeleteYou do have a wonderful time playing with all your fabrics. the witches look gorgeous - or am I insulting them by saying that?
ReplyDeleteAnd the quilt is fantastic. I do like pearl Louise designs and your interpretation and addition to it are wonderful! I will have to checkout Rhonda too.
Thank you for such a fun post!
Boo Hoo! Amazing love your dolls.
ReplyDeleteThat is one wicked quilt. each and every block could stand on it's own. you did a wonderful job on the blocks and the improv for the not so missing block was great. and the girls.........beyond words.
ReplyDeleteWhat great projects, love the witches. I have never, I don't think, played a trick on anyone. But there is still time.
ReplyDeleteJoan, you're profile picture is as perfect as your dolls and quilts ! Wings from screen door "fabric",,,,a- frightening-mazing ! I can't think of any tricks...I do remember a lady that gave popcorn-balls as treats, when I was only 5 or 6, that was like 50 years ago ! Yikes...there's a trick...of nature ! LOL
ReplyDeleteYour little witches and the quilt are just wonderful! (Love that Witches Undies fabric too!!! How cute!) Great job!
ReplyDeleteWow! those were some interesting witch dolls. Love it! Especially the wings and other details on the back was lovely.
ReplyDeleteWicked witchy undies! What a fun witch to have hanging around, She could,d guard your fabric stash all year!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love the boo hollow quilt. I hope I can find the pattern, it is so cute!

ReplyDeleteWow! I love every block in this quilt! it's beautiful all together!
ReplyDelete:) Kelly @ My Quilt Infatuation
Joan the witches, the quilt and your story are so wonderful!!! Great job with all.
ReplyDeleteLove your dolls and congrats! Great story about your quilt and it couldn't have worked out any better. Thanks for sharing so many wonderful photos of your projects.
ReplyDeleteso Cute..... love your work... my only Halloween story is the year.. my dad was tired of answering door so he offered 2 boys the bowl of candy for their dog... when they accepted dad said I was only "tricking" but their mom said we have its puppies to give away.. so we got our dog named "Candy"!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the witches! Love the quilt. I follow Rhonda also. She does beautiful work as do you! The funniest Halloween story I could think of was in the 80's when things were different. Driving down the main street in Decatur Al (6th Ave.) these kids in front of us were throwing eggs at cars. (Very messy and can ruin paint)We were all stopped at a red light. They were talking to friends beside them when the light changed. Their friends started off and they threw the eggs at their car but a police car had took their place. Yes the eggs went all over the police car. He was nice about it. Just made them follow him to the car wash and wash his car. Can you imagine that today!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a Halloween trick, but I sure love the treats. I also love your Boo Hallow quilt, you did an awesome job as usual. Thanks for being part of all the hops.
ReplyDeleteI think that was very inventive of you to incorporate the other house into the quilt, no one would know! Well, maybe the designer of the original... I'm not a tricksy person, I just like to treat people. Especially with food, although this year for Halloween I was going to dress up some suckers to look like spiders for our Trick-or-Treaters!
ReplyDeleteSorry if my email didn't show up on my first comment, here's another happy thought for you: your Orca quilt is fantastic!
Deletebrandizzle7133 at gmail.com
You did an amazing job, as usual! I love Rhonda's design and you made it fit perfectly. Rhonda is an incredible quilter with such a great eye for designs.
ReplyDeleteI suppose my scariest thing here is my motion activated flying ghost by the front door. Or....it could be my realistic looking spider pin that I wear on my shoulder. Hmmm.
Loved your projects. So very cute.
ReplyDeletetvbart@charter.net
Wickedly wonderful. Stashbusting is like a free quilt. Love the "babes" too.
ReplyDeleteI love Fidget, she is the cutest! Halloween is so much fun, love seeing the kiddos coming up the drive. Last year we took old coffee cans and cut faces out of them and light them up and place along our long driveway for the kiddos to follow up to the candy stash...
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this post! Love the quilt, and how you used non-Halloween fabrics in your quilt. Love the witches undies and I love the panel! And I lol'd at your trickster story! I don't have any Halloween tricks, but my favorite houses when I was younger were the ones the owners would scare you as you walked up. Creepy!
ReplyDeleteWow - what fabulous projects!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you included Rhonda's scary house - she's so generous isn't she!!
Your post is awesome with all the great projects!
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful projects. No tricks here. Happy Halloween! 24Tangent@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteWe have a white picket fence around our front yard, and my husband decorates the yard like a cemetery. That's our big trick. Love your quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful projects. I love Fidget and Inns, but all the rest are just as besatiful!
ReplyDeleteSpooktacular projects!!! Love them all!
ReplyDeleteP
Oh I so adore Fidget! All of your projects are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWow you really are very talented. All those beautiful projects. Thanks for sharing. I only treat at Halloween no tricks for me
ReplyDeleteLove your dolls and your awesome BOM quilt. Congrats on being one of the chosen
ReplyDeleteWe put out decorations that are motion sensor...they move and talk when kids walk up...
Love those last pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your projects, but nothing new about that. My boys when they were too old to trick or treat, would sit on the porch roof and drop a ghost down when the kids came for candy. We also played spooky Halloween sounds.
ReplyDeleteLove all your projects, such imagination and creativity. I live in a tiny town that has main street Halloween celebration so I don't do any tricks but hand out lots of treats.
ReplyDeleteNothing scary from me. Your Wicked projects are Wonderful! How very clever of you to create your own panel of the haunted house. Love your witches! BOO-tiful and thank you for Wicked hop participating.
ReplyDeleteHow totally awesome all of them are. I like treats better than tricks. I don't play very many tricks. Guess I am just boring. But boring is good...lol. I used to allways buy tons of candy in advance. But this year dealing with the cancer and my husbands job being canceled by the goverment I haven't even thought about buying candy. I guess I might better buy at least one small bag. Before its all bought and the store shelves ares empty
ReplyDeleteGreat job! You have created sew many lovelies!! Congratulations for being in top today.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh your witches are awesome and all your other projects are sooo cute. I can't think of any tricks I have done right now. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeletesmjohns63 at yahoo dot com
OMG>>>Just amazing!!! You just make every hop fantastic... You are so creative and clever. I don't do tricks but I give alot of treats. Thanks for sharing..
ReplyDeleteyou hit it out of the park again, Joan. I love everything that you picked to make for the hop. Glad that the missing pattern showed up but its going into hiding made another fun design option possible. Just say you planned it that way?? THX for the giveaway opportunity---cute fabric that will make someone really happy.
ReplyDeleteJoan, your adventures with the missing BoM pattern sound a lot like some of my own adventures! And I don't have any excuses at all! Love the dolls--especially those fun shoes. Great job on the quilt--that house block looks right at home in it! Thanks for sharing! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow Joan you really have some neat projects!! I love Rhonda's work isn't she great! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love both of your witches and the quilt is adorable!!!
ReplyDeletexo jan
I am more into treats than tricks. Your blog is so wickedly funny. I think Fidget is my favorite. your projects are so creative and fun.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt. Great colours and it looks super. Thanks so much for sharing. I have to admit we used to do a bit of outhouse tipping in my younger years, but If I remember right, it was only one or two (for very good reasons...)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wickedly wonderful quilt, I love it. Also, that witches undies fabric is some of my favorite too. Makes me giggle every time.
ReplyDeleteI love your withches...Imma Witch 2 if my favorite. The Boo Hallow BOM is amazing! The haunted house block is a perfect choice...I never would have known that it wasn't part of the original pattern. Thank you for sharing! anglanouette at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteLove the "girls". I am sure their eagle eyes keep you on task especially when all things wicked and creepy are concerned. Your Boo Hallow quilt is amazing. One would never know that the pattern had been alternated to suit your needs. Thanks for sharing your spooktacular creations.
ReplyDeleteOh your witches are just a scream. I miss the days when I lived in Kansas City and went to the haunted houses. They were the best.
ReplyDeleteOh my, how did I miss your wicked projects! Absolutely fantastic, each and everyone. Got to look for the undies fabric!
ReplyDeleteYour witches are ghastly darling!!! So darn cute. And the blocks for your quilt are great....I always find things later too. Thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteLove your witches they are hilarious, wonderfully creative. The quilt you did for this year was just so fantastic and as usual you did a wonderful job on it. Thanks for sharing your Halloween fun
ReplyDeleteYou had way to much fun with this Hop......Giggle. Everything is terrific.
ReplyDeleteAll of your creations are great, but I really LOVE your quilt ... it's faboolous!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness! Love all your projects. they are always fang-tastic!!! we always have a big family Halloween party. we always have a piñata, have dinner and play some games. this year? FEAR FACTOR!!!!! hubby and I are finding lots of gross stuff for the grands to eat! HEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEH..... such a wicked grandma! thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration for the halloween season! Thanks for the chance to win...I am not good at tricking but am more like the person being tricked!
ReplyDeleteReally really cute dolls....so nice. I like to just add something unexpected into the dinner...say shaved roasted brussel sprouts into the spagetti...the kids usually eat it and then I tell them afterwards what they ate!
ReplyDeleteJoan...you are hilarious. Thanks for sharing your spooktacular Halloween fun. Love your witches and your quilt...bootifully done. Happy Haunting, Pauline
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is fabulous, I just love it! The witches are wonderful too! I don't really play tricks at Halloween. I must be one of the good witches.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I really love this quilt with all the different blocks and fabrics. Wonderful work, and those witches are just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilts and use of fabric. Thank you for sharing with us. Love the stinkin' cute witches, I'm sure they are full of wicked inspiration and trouble.
ReplyDeleteJoan, that quilt is fantastic!! Best Halloween quilt I've seen so far! Oh, I love your witchy dolls too!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what a delight to read through your post and see all the creations you have come up with for Halloween. You are One Lean, Mean, Halloween Machine, lady!!! Love 'em all.
ReplyDeleteWow! Awesome projects...and what a perfect addition you made for the missing block. Thanks for that link too. I'm afraid I have no tricks up my sleeve. If you believe that just talk to some of my former students... I was a high school principal. :). Blessings, Marlene
ReplyDeleteMy family scared me while I was showering............
ReplyDeleteI hid in my daughter's closet one Halloween morning and jumped up when she opened the door. I had dressed like Jason from the movie Friday the 13th. Scared the crap out of her. She didn't forgive me for quite a while.
ReplyDeleteThose witch fairies are super!! Love them and all your spooky creations.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! I love the witches undies!! My scary tricks for Halloween would be to keep all the candy for myself!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally loved your post. It was a fun read. Love the frog block. When I was young... long time ago... when we would get done with trick or treating my sisters and I would all dump the candy out in 3 piles to share what we didn't like. I always ended up with more than they did. But then I was the youngest and they say the youngest is spoiled? WHAT! is that true?
ReplyDeleteThese are all so creative!
ReplyDeleteI was never very good at 'tricks' so I can't think of anything at the moment. Your witches and quilt are all wonderful. That's one of the cutest Halloween quilts I've ever seen. Thanks for the heads-up with Rhonda; I'm going to check her out.
ReplyDeleteOverachiever! Love them all. And Rhonda too. I have a couple of her creations. Her generosity is special indeed. My front door is very creaky. It has been for years. I refuse to oil it. It is just too much fun to open it SLOWLY when the trick-or-treaters come calling.
ReplyDeleteWonderful projects! No tricks at my house but I'm really good with treats! pbstrand@msn.com
ReplyDeleteOh my word!! I love all of your projects. Applique is a favorite of mine and it looks like it is a favorite of yours. Thanks for sharing and for the cute giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful (yet scary) witches! Your story about the BOM Is too funny, but it really turned out amazing with your haunted house. It is a very cool quilt! In the olden days I was full of tricky Halloween pranks like jumping out from behind bushes to scare the little children. I'm much nicer now. :O)
ReplyDeletewhat wonderfully wicked work!!
ReplyDeleteGreat wicked projects! I'm a panel junkie. I love panels! I don't think I've ever played any tricks on anyone. I love Halloween but not the scary part of it.
ReplyDeleteLove your witches - you are right, the noses are hysterical!!! Love them!!! I'm also glad you were able to find the missing pattern for the haunted house!!
ReplyDeleteMy mother always made the trick-or-treaters do a trick or joke for a treat. We got silly faces, wiggled ears, hand-stands, and all sorts of knock-knock jokes. Some of the older kids got annoyed, but looking back, their annoyance was pretty funny!
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome!
reillyr2(at)hotmail(dot)com
I don't have any tricks that I have played on anyone but I remember that as a id we had a guy in our neighborhood that instead of giving us candy he would give s a few pennies. That was a nasty trick. HA HA Your ladies are SOO cute. I love your quilt. That house fits perfectly!!
ReplyDeleteMy dad hooked up some speakers and put on spooky music when kids came to our door. One little girl was so scared, she ran off without any candy.
ReplyDelete
