First off...my Cell Phone Wallet from Cut Loose Press.
Nice pocket on the back for my phone.
Lots of room on the inside too.
This is the original one I made.
After using it for awhile, I found that the credit card slots were too shallow, and they kept falling out. NOT a good thing! There is enough credit card problems going around these days.
Also it didn't have enough stabilizer or interfacing in it. That caused the pockets to stretch and things got "sloppy" for lack of a better word. It was very hard to put my cards into the slots, as the fabric wanted to roll.
So I decided to make the entire wallet 1/2" wider. Oh the difference that half inch made. I also made each of the card slots 1/2"deeper, which has kept the falling out issue under control now.
Then I backed each and every piece with Deco-Bond. It added a lot of layers to things, but I took my time, stitching thru it, so it was not a problem, and it was just what it needed.
I like to hang my keys on a Caribbean-er on the strap, so I made it 1/2" wider. It just feels like it's a little more sturdy.
Lastly, as cute as that little strap and buckle thingy is, once I'd taken the time to feed it thru those rings to open and close it a few times, it became very annoying.
Gone...Velcro is my hero.
;-)
Such a great little wallet. I keep it in my purse and take it out when I don't want to carry a big purse around. Everything I need is right there.
This is the perfect tool for those blasted "Rush" hours, but I got to thinking...
It's all about the moose around here!
SO
"Rush Hour" in the Moosestash was born.
Yep, you see it right! A traffic light right in the middle of the wilderness.
Causing a backup, clear back to the trail head!
:-)
It's an amazing thing, what the mind sees when those creative juices start to flow!
(or just darn scary in my case)
LOL!
Creative juices I said, not wine.
Really!
;-)
Never in a million years did I expect the hardest part of this project to be the photo shoot.
It's been a very long time since I took black and white photos, and let me just tell you, it was not easy.
You sure can see a big difference the backgrounds and light makes.
I sure hope you've enjoyed the little trip thru the traffic jam!!
Seeing your "Rush Hour" projects has been so much fun for me.
Give-a-way you say?
What would be better than giving away that brand spankin new cell phone wallet in those fabulous "Rush Hour" fabrics. You know the one above with the big red button on it!
:-)
Just leave me a comment telling me why you think it should be yours!
Today is the last day of the hop. I will be picking my winner tomorrow morning, so don't delay.

Your 'Rush Hour in the Moosestash' is gorgeous, what kind of imagination you have!
ReplyDeleteThe cell phone wallet should be mine since my laptop got a new sleeve for the hop, and now my phone is jealous!
Joan, you have more creative juice in your little fingers than anyone. You always make me laugh. Moose with a traffic light, who would have "thunk" it. Well, Joan, of course. Love it. That cell phone wallet is so perfect in so many ways. I can just see myself with it when I'm running around getting all this wedding stuff done. I'm a MOB and I need it!! lol
ReplyDeleteA moose traffic jam - now that just seems so you! I have a problem remembering to take my cell phone in the car so maybe a nice wallet with special spot for it would be the nicest ticket.
ReplyDeleteRush Hour Moose, just 2 darn cute! My cell phone is sew in love with the cell phone wallet and would match it perfectly, she/it is red! Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas.
ReplyDeleteThat wallet is just so handy! I am glad that the little extra made such a big difference! The quilt is hilarious. Those moose are too cute. Would they have road rage too? I can just see them.......
ReplyDeleteWOW Joan. I just love your moose quilt. How clever are you! Your phone wallet is a great idea. Sounds like you've worked out all the problems. The wallet would be great to take out when you don't really want to take a bigger bag.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh I think I have passed through towns like your Quilt while Snowmobiling!! I just Love your Quilt, the Traffic Light of nothing short of Creative Genius!! Why do I deserve the Best Looking Cell Wallet in Blogland?? Well before you mentioned Give Away, I thought, Oh cool that would work for me, I must ask for the Pattern. You see because I carry a Big Purse but I like to leave it behind and carry a wallet with a strap over my shoulder so my hands are free. BUT I never have a place for the Cell Phone!! So it gets left behind in the car, and hubby doesn't like it when I do that. Thanks for sharing your Great Projects with us Joan!!
ReplyDeleteHuggs, Nancy
there is no mistaken,,,, if you want to see any MOOSE come here...and I sooooo love your traffic jam...really Joan, what a hoot....and the red light...and can we talk your wee purse cell phone keeper...love that too...and you know how much I love buttons....this one..is a keeper...thanks for the chuckles over coffee this morning..
ReplyDeleteHa! Love your kinda traffic jam, great fabrics. I have no reason for your cell phone wallet to be mine, you see I have no cell phone, but it is very lovely! And I just love (and agree with) Carla's assessment of little fingers and your creative juices...absolutely!
ReplyDeleteYour cell phone wallet bag is just adorable. I usually make up a dummy first for those very reasons! Then I tweak the pattern to suit my needs and wants. How clever and creative is your Rush Hour Moose. Oh, my goodness, I chuckled when I saw that while drinking my first cuppa and scrolling down your post. You should stand up and take a bow right now!!
ReplyDeleteOh your wonderful imagination at work!!! Lol. I love your piece for this hop....just great!!!! I don't have a cell phone wallet, so of course, it should be mine!!!!!! Lol
ReplyDeleteThat is such a clever, fun, and beautiful quilt! The cell phone bag should be mine because I appreciate beautiful things lol.
ReplyDeleteI just love that stop light....this is my first stop on the hop today and it sure made me laugh. ;) Very clever, as always! Love the cell phone wallet.... I love the way you customized it to really work well. I'd love to have one to keep me organized. Thanks for starting my day with a smile!
ReplyDeleteYour talent never ceases to amaze me! Love the Moose quilt! and I noticed the red light right away and chuckled! I would love to win the cell phone case... why should you pick me?.. Well, just because. :)

ReplyDeleteHi!!!!! Love your cell phone case!!!!! But!!!! Wow!!!! Moose in rush hour traffic!!!!! Hee hee!!!! Love love love it!!!! You always amaze me with your imagination and talents!!!! Thanks for the fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Joan, I do love your posts. Before I click over to see what you've done, I always ask myself "How is she going to include Moose in this?" You never disappoint, LOVE the moose rush hour. It is so very cute! Wonderful showing today. Your cell phone case looks ideal!
ReplyDeleteNot sure why the cell phone carrier should be mine and not someone else's other than I think it is sew cute. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteoh your projects are lovely. especially your moose "rush". LOL I love lit. I would love the so pretty wallet. My husband just replaced my oh so old flip phone with a brand new I Phone 5. Oh my the fun I am having. LOL what I have been missing to make my life a little easier. LOL seriously it is great. I have told my husband that I will have to make a cover, but as I am making a king sized quilt for our son and his fiancé for their wedding and making myself a civil war dress for the wedding and a baby quilt for this December ( I will be a great aunt again, oh how fun) I have been a little busy so it got put to the side. Thanks for the opportunity to win something so lovely. And thank you for sharing and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteYou never dissappoint!
ReplyDeleteGood to know what adjustments you would make to the wallet to make it better. We learn on the first go round what doesn't work and give it another whirl. Very cute on both versions. Only you would come up with a moose traffic jam, LOL. I love it! I can't believe you are giving away your cell phone wallet but thx for the giveaway opportunity!
ReplyDeleteJoan, you nailed it again with your Mooses ! Traffic light...hahaha
ReplyDeleteLove the Moose with the traffic light so creative and fun, your fabric choices are wonderful. I am glad to know of the adjustments you made to the cell wallet, that looks really handy with the phone as the star.
ReplyDeletewhat is Rush Hour without a Moose to stop traffic. Love your bag and the Moose traffic.
ReplyDeleteJust love your stuff. So clever
ReplyDeleteLove your work. The traffic light is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a treat to see what you do with a moose and your traffic stop is just over the top in beauty and cuteness. What a smile it gave me this morning! Love that bag, too!
ReplyDeleteYour traffic jam is so funny, your imagination never fails us!
ReplyDeleteOkay....that is too clever. I love the red light idea. I love the credit card wallet too. I think those fabrics need to come to my house so I can make one of the wallets here.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are fabulous! That cell phone wallet would be perfect for me when walking my new adopted twin grand babies. It would be perfect to hold my phone & other necessities. I love it.
ReplyDeleteCan we talk about HOW CUTE that Moose Jam is????? I totally want one!!! I LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteand that little red light... LOVE IT!
Wonderful Job all around!!!!
Wonderful projects! It warms my heart to see that so many others make a project following the pattern and then make a second one to meet their needs. Your wallet is a case in point, and you even shared what changes you made. Thanks! Now, Moose Jam! This is just so darling!! I love the stop light! Thanks for sharing your absolutely wonderful projects with us today.
ReplyDeleteMind Blown! Moose Jam is the hands down cutest thing I have seen in a long time. So original. And your quilting is awesome too. Your cell phone wallet is a great design. I may not have to deal with Rush Hour but how handy would that be when I am lugging my grandson around. Not having to carry a big purse would be a definite bonus.
ReplyDeleteI love the Moose Jam quilt. How original!. I Would like to win the Cell Phone Wallet because I am in the market for my first Smart Phone--all I have had is a "dumb flip-phone" (doesn't even take pictures). The two things I like about my current phone is that it fits in any pocket I care to put it in. My husband's employer-issued iPhone does not. I need to take my phone with me when I go for a walk so I can call for a ride if my foot gives out on me. I also need a small "essentials" cross-body bag to reduce the stress on my neck and back. Your bag would be perfect. Thanks for sharing your wonderful, creative projects.
ReplyDeleteWow, Moose Jam is amazing! I could feel my face smiling right away....great job. I'm retired, so Rush Hour is not on my everyday list, but I sure would love that little purse you made. Thank you for sharing that with us.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah I need one of those for my cell phone. I can never find it at the bottom of my purse. Great idea! Maybe I can keep all those darn cash saving cards in there too. That quilt is stunning. I love it! So funny with the red traffic light. The quilting is awesome. I need to practice. I hope to get good at it one day :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous projects - I love your moose quilt!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your purse so I wouldn't have to stuff my phone in my pocket when I'm out walking!!
Why I should win???! My checkbook/card/coin keeper is waaaayyy too heavy even before putting anything into it. It doesn't give much so when it is doing what it should, it is bulky and sticks out. Too heavy to carry around by itself ~ it takes up all of the room in the bottom of my zipper top carryall. Hmm... I sure could use your not only functional but p~r~e~t~t~y flip purse. I didn't mention... my cellphone is in its own little holder that you are suppose to put on "your belt" and by the time I unzip the bag, get out the phone ~ the call is long gone.
ReplyDeleteI like your moose quilt and how your website address shows on the first one above ~ that would look good on the quilt border all in red. Thanks for your post! Kathleen ~ Lane Hill House lanehillhouse[at]centurylink[dot]net
Now THAT'S the kind of traffic jam I'd like to see! Wonderful job Joan!
ReplyDelete~Brandy
Love your moose quilt and that traffic light is so fun!
ReplyDeleteHa! Moose waiting at the stoplight! So creative!
ReplyDeleteI don't own a cell phone...hmm, what could I put in that slot instead? I know! A pack of gum! That would keep the individual pieces from escaping and making a mess of my purse!
LOL your moose quilt is hilarious .. love it!
ReplyDeleteOh Thank You sew very much for the wonderful smiles I am having after seeing your truly clever Trail Head Rush Hour Quilt. Too too smart of you to MooseStash Rush Hour. I cannot believe you are giving your fabulous little Rush Hour wallet to some lucky commenter. That is sew very sweet of you to share so moose generously. Your sharing and hopping really brings this Rush Hour to an all time pleasure. Creative Rush Hour Bliss...
ReplyDeleteYou're just too clever and creative! The Moose crossing is adorable. I love it! And the cell phone wallet... Yes mamm, I NEED one of those! NEED and WANT in this case, the same thing! :)
ReplyDeleteJoan, I love your sense of humor. The stop light was perfect. The wall hanging is great for all winter after Christmas. Your
ReplyDeleteshoulder wallet would be great for when I go to a quilting show, or fall art shows. Thanks for your take on the Rush Hour blog
Tonia
Love the cell phone wallet. I would love to own it because it is so compact and I might be stop the never ending search for debit cars in the abis which is the bottom of my purse. And that moose crossing quilt is a sure delight.Your red light was needed in my town this weekend. There was a single bull moose wandering and he had traffic on the main highway stalled for quite a while. If the herd crossing your quilt had been with him cars might be still backed up on the road.
ReplyDeleteI was impressed with your cell phone wallet but when I got to your moose quilt my jaw just dropped and got a huge smile on my face. That quilt is absolutely fabulous! I'd love to own your wallet because it would remind me of a very great hop and a smile to my face! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour moose quilt gave me a chuckle. I really, really need that wallet. I want to make a similar one to attach inside a large tote bag for a friend and since you have already worked out the flaws in the original pattern, I could use yours as a model. Then I would have the model just for myself. Perfect plan!
ReplyDeleteI hope I am not to late for the perfect phone tote! I just love it. My kids are getting me a new phone and I need a way to keep it with me at all times. This looks perfect! I love the moose picture too! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThat phone tote would be so timely for me to win since I need serious help to be properly organized. -- soparkaveataoldotcom
ReplyDeleteOh my, that is the BEST traffic jam I have ever witnessed! Still chuckling. Love our wallet. How disheartening it is the finish a project and not like the results. I am so glad that you persevered and redesigned it. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteHonestly Joan, I just want to hug you! Your mooses (!) and the stoplight are AMAZING and so darned funny! My favorite of everything today!! Now, your wallet rocks and I want the pattern because I don't carry a purse, BUT your mooses.....so, so happy!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha, those Moosies, I tells ya. They sure get up to some shenanigans! Love your projects too cool!
ReplyDeleteLove the moose crossing - fabulous!
ReplyDeleteJoan after my recent trip to the Rockies I can testify that a traffic light is definitely needed out there but more for the tourists than the moose. My husband did see a moose early morning but I missed it. :( I love that wallhanging - just adorable. And as for the wallet...please, please, please pick me! I love it! No, really.....love. love. it. Barring that :) do you have a pattern? blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteYou always come through with fabulous projects and something that makes me laugh. Love the Moosetash crossing - what a hoot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of fun in your cellphone wallet. The Moosestash Crossing is so cool. You did a wonderful job on both projects.
ReplyDeleteLOL, a traffic light in moose country! I love it! Your lovely cell phone wallet is just what I need when I go out for my walks.
ReplyDeleteLove your Rush Hour in the Moosestash is totally inspired!!! Love it to pieces!!! That wallet is wonderful and I'm sure there is someone much more deserving than I. How about a tutorial since at least 59 of us are not going to win it!!!???
ReplyDeleteone of my ambitions in life is to win something from you! This would be perfect!!! it would look wonderful in my purse!!!! your projects are always wonderful! love the stoplight in the forest... thanks for the chance....
ReplyDeleteLove the wallet, have been looking for one that would fit my purse but have had no luck, this one looks perfect. But if i don't win the wallet i would be willing to accept the rush hour in moosestash quilt as a concilation gift. Lol! Love your work, keep it up. Mooses are wonderful!
ReplyDeletewow your moose picture is stunning!
ReplyDeleteblack and white is just so classy - love the moose - I used to live in MN and just love them
ReplyDeleteLove your cell phone wallet. I am always losing my cell phone, and this would really come in handy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!

I know I am late but I am still leaving a comment because i love this post. Your cell phone wallet is stunning. And it is a great idea. I love the way you have thought out the changes and it sounds like they worked. Smart move.
ReplyDeleteBut what I love even more is the moose traffic jam. They are wonderful. Can you imagine them in the middle of a city in rush hour?
Thanks for a fun post in the hop!!
Oh, how great is that. I love your idea of the phone holder. ( I am probably too late for your giveaway, that is ok, I had problems yesterday and didn't get to read anyone's posts till now. ) your moose are adorable...I love how you.put the red light in. How creative!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the cell phone wallet bag. How cute.
ReplyDeleteLike Jane before me, I was away from my computer yesterday with Dr. appt.s and errands. So I'm just now visiting everyone. Your "painting" in fabric is really a showstopper!! I keep looking at how you used the Rush hour fabric and of course what a clever idea to put a stoplight! I haven't looked to see if you were one of the top choices but I would have you in Creative!!!! Nicely done..everything from the cell phone wallet to the painting...Fabulous! I like the way you told how you modified your first wallet. Sometimes "Cute" doesn't equate "Useable" and you came up with a great solution.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Gmama Jane
Love that cellphone wallet. I just got a "hand-me-up" one as my oldest daughter bought the new iphone 6. This is the first time she doesn't have a holder to give me, so I guess I'll be making one as I'm so used to "wearing" mine. Thanks for your info on the credit card part, but I think I'll just make a holder.
ReplyDeleteThat may be just the wallet I need. I am looking for something smaller to carry around with me while i'm at work. Since I am late for the drawing perhaps you can share the pattern info with me. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd oh my goodness! Look at all those moose, I laughed out loud. What a clever rush hour you have put together, and very nicely put together at that. Wonderful work!
Your wallet is just beautiful! Great idea. I really love the moose crossing. Made me Laugh so hard. They are such great law abiding moose. If only all of them were like that. :)
ReplyDeleteIn California we'd have to say "sig alert" at Moosestash. Ha ha Wonderful fun quilt. You never fail to surprise me. Great wallet. Thanks for the cheer.
ReplyDeleteoh wow, oh wow, love, love the moosestash quilt, how big is it, Can you make a pattern? OMG, I want it and I don't know why, I freakin' love it!
ReplyDeleteYou always come up with the best ideas for fun projects and this one doesn't disappoint.
ReplyDeleteWow... that is an amazing project, and so different from the rest. What a treat to visit with you and see your playful quilt.
ReplyDeletevery creative...how did I know Moose wouldn't be involved in you creations. ;P I have a friend that would get along with you just perfectly.
ReplyDelete
