  9. That is such a cute block. I LOVE the snail. My garden...well...I've just finished the peaches and strawberries, but the tomatoes will be calling my name in about a week.

  10. Unfortunately, dead plants. It seems to be too hot for my plants this year or the deer are eating them.

  11. Beautiful! My "garden" is what the uninformed might call a weed bed . . . asparagus that's gone to seed with a few wildflowers mixed in. It is a riot of wild growth. The bunnies love it, and so do I. :)

  19. I'm afraid I have a "black" thumb but so far I have managed not to kill some Wandering Jew starts and my re-potted Aloe Vera plant seems to be thriving in spite of me!

Joan, the blocks are delightful! I think writing up instructions is the hardest part as you have to almost assume that people are beginners and hope you don't leave something out. What might be perfectly obvious to you may escape a newbie piecer. The fabric choice for the blocks is cool too.

  20. Mostly what's in my garden are urban deer who make our yard their home. They happily munch and crunch the grass and any emerging shoots of anything. When we decide to do a veggie garden again, we'll fence it. I do love to watch these graceful creatures tend for their families. BTW, love the snail in your applique block.

  21. I think this will be the first year I get to see my Tiger Lily buds open--I've been applying deer repellent faithfully!

  23. Hi, my garden is full of flowers, tomatos, squash and of course the birds favorite strawberries.......they just sit on the netting that is over the plants and let their weight lower them down to eat on those sweet red goodness....

  35. My garden has a variety of flowers, 3 tomato plants, 1 zucchini plant and 1 cucumber plant. The main part of my garden has raspberry bushes and they are taking over the whole area. I am going to have to learn how to get those under control.

  46. Beautiful blocks!
I don't garden very much, because of two things one is I do not have much time and the second is there are bugs out there!!! Just kidding, but I really don't like bugs. Anyways, so I usually have a small container garden with pots and planters of geraniums, marigolds, and my favorite petunias! There are also three rose bushes and areas of iris and lilies. Someday, I hope to have more time to really garden.

  48. Unfortunately, I do not have a garden anymore. When I did, corn and pumpkins were my favorite things to plant and watch grow. Now I only have indoor bamboo plants, but they still bring me joy. mtmom57@gmail.com

  50. My garden is a blank canvas. We just finished a 14 mo renovation and we put pavers down the driveway continuing through half of the back yard. We also installed "fake grass" on another part of our back yard. What's left is a border around the yard and I've been trying to get my husband to call a landscaper to get an estimate for the remainder of the yard(front & back). It's not a big job, but we can't do it. Getting him "moving" is worse than pulling teeth. At least I can make an appointment & go & get it done! We moved back into our home at the end of March and I'm still waiting for him to do something. I have just gotten to the point with my sewing that I can now do some table runners and later a quilt to go with our new decor. Love this QAL. I will probably join in later this year. Thanks for all the inspiration.
