This elegant young tuxedo girl at Okefenokee Humane Society in Waycross Georgia,  is ready to bring her sophisticated style to a forever home.
You can find out more about others in your area, thru "Pet Finder"
HERE
Puts a whole new meaning to "let your fingers do the walking" doesn't it?
That's for those of you old enough to remember that jingle!
LOL!!
As for my guy...
...well, he's just not up for adoption
LOL!
He's a resident of this house, and
PetFinders doesn't adopt out "his" kind anyway!
;-)
You can also help our our friends by making kennel quilts for pets in need.
TQPM Small Kennel Quilt team is a group of volunteers who
put together small 12" x 18" quilts for shelter animals.

Quilt Pattern Magazine has all the information
You can find the current needs on the TQPM Facebook page
Our "Flying Quilters" quilt group has been making and sending
kennel quilts for almost a year now.
It's a great way to scrap bust and manage the stash...
...all while we sit and giggle the day away stitching!
Make sure you visit my fellow ambassadors today

Where has time gone?

The past couple of weeks have been crazy...
...this week took the cake, when I had to get my
income tax paperwork together.
That's one chore that always makes me crabby.
The only joy I get from it, is being able to shred the paperwork
 that's over 7 years old!  Now that's a party!
LOL!!

I celebrated with stitching up another of Lorna's fun
Christmas blocks, from her "Have a Jolly Little Christmas" series.

I'd love to tell you these are my favorite so far, but
I'm pretty sure that's what I say every time a new block is released.
But really now...
Are these just the cutest???
:-)

Here's what I have so far!
If you love them as much as I do, you can read more about this free QAL,
by clicking the link on the left hand side bar.
Thanks Lorna!

Quilt Qwazy Queens

World Wide Quilting Day
Now that's something to jump for joy over.
It's a day where we can "shelf" the craziness of the world and just
join together and stitch our hearts away.
I'd like to invite you down into my stitching cave.
It's a place where all the silliness happens.
My room is long and narrow.
My sewing machine is on one end and my longarm on the other.
It's all about storage for me.
The table my machine is on, is 12' long. Hubby built it for me years ago,
to accommodate one of those first home long arm frames
The kind that the tracks taped down to the table top.
Man, have things improved light years, in home longarms since then.
Thanks goodness!
My table has been converted to provide lots of storage and a big cutting area. But my all time favorite is the light box that's recessed into one end.

I re-purposed a set of cabinets from an old water bed frame,
for extra storage under my long arm. They were a perfect fit, but there is a down side. It's another flat surface, that tends to collect piles of "stuff".
I'm a self proclaimed IKEA addict!
I just love all their things for storage, and the ability to roll them around where you want them.
The dressers I bought are great for fabric storage, but even better as extra work areas. My ironing station is on one set of them. I put a strip of "Inspired LED" lighting under the shelf above it. It provides great lighting and the strip sticks on with adhesive.
In addition, I bought a CD rack years ago from Best Buy, that has been invaluable for my fat quarter storage.

Well now...this post got pretty long winded.
Hang in there with me, there are some great give away's at the end.

I wrote a guest blog post recently, that "seamed sew" appropriate to re-share for WWQD!
(it also explains the crazy that happens in my quiltin' cave)
Stitch
Noun   (Knitting and Sewing)  a link made my drawing a thread through                                                       material, by means of a needle
Verb     (Knitting and Sewing) (tr) to sew, fasten, etc, with stitches
Example: When I am forced to use needle and thread, yes it's true.
When a hot glue gun or stapler, well it just won't due!

Oh, don't think I haven't tried it "all" once or twice.
See, I'm addicted to "stitch"
 no matter the price.
I've cooked aluminum can's on the BBQ grill.
Then stitched them to a wall hanging, just for the thrill.
I've stitched on clothesline, to many a things...
...some even look like, they are sitting on springs.
(Example: my sad leaning basket, of Pisa)
:-0
I've glued tissue paper into muslin, painted and stitched.
Heck, I've even stitched photos...now ain't that just rich!
 LOL!!
Stitched a couch, in my house,
and I've stitched up some of those...
...just to warm up, those cold winter toes.
I've gone bonkers with strange stuff...
Have you ever saved thread?
It makes a nice, wool feel fabric.
 Definitely not for your bed.
Cloth made from "Dog Ears".
No, not the ones from your dog...
...those pieces from squaring, half square triangles, oh my...
And what about "shard" cloth?
All those "shards" you must save.
When trimming your blocks, you know it's all the rave.

It's a sickness I tell you!
And I can't "seam" to stop.
But coffee bags?
Oh heck, just why not!
This 2'x4' giant, the most crazy of all.
It hangs in my kitchen, right up on the wall!

I tell you, there is "almost" no limit, what you can stitch!
But I love me, my quilting...
fusible applique is my fix!
The boys, here in the MooseStash and I want to send out a big thanks to
Marian, for all her hard work and dedication to us bloggers.
She pours her heart and soul, into providing us all, with her talents and enriches our wonderful blogging community.
But, of course we can't forget our fabulous sponsors who so generously provide us with give-away's and discounts.
Your a stitcher's delight, each and every one of you!
Leave me a comment telling me what you love to stitch...

Mini Madness with Island Batik

It's Mini Madness time, and this year there is a twist.
We have to use either paper piecing or
English paper piecing for our projects!

I for one, have never played with English paper piecing.
It took me enough years to make friends with paper piecing, as it is.
Yes, there was lots of ripping and unkind words uttered, when I started.
I still have one project in a bag with the book and all the fabrics,
buried deep in my quilt room somewhere.
It's never going to see the light of day again. I promise that!
LOL!
Then I stumbled on a really great instructor, who managed to do the impossible...
she made me LOVE paper piecing.
The best way I can explain it to anyone, is once you can figure out thinking upside down and backwards, it's a snap!
:-)

Anyway, I was really stumped for a project this time...
Then "Whole Circle Studio"  shared this adorable pattern,
"Sew Many Colors"
and I knew exactly what I was going to do.

Pairing up these wonderful "Island Batiks" with "Aurifil" thread,
makes for once fun project! The greatest thing is, with so many
colors, you can find the perfect match for anything your sewing.

If your a quilter, I'm sure you have seen these iconic
"Auriful" thread spools a time or two.
Check out their big quilt with these spools...
270 colors of delicious!
Yep, its enough to make me drool!

Thanks "Aurifil" Thread and "Island Batik".

February Month in Review with Island Batik

February...
what a great month it was.
The first time we got to see the talents of all of our new
 Island Batik Ambassadors.

They had 2 projects for us, this month.
First was "Galentines/Valentines" day.
What a hoot to change things us a bit and show a little love for our
special gal-pals!

These are a few of the project the ambassadors shared.

It's so much fun to see all the different styles!

Next up was Kennel Quilts...

We all made up a few "quilties" for our little furry friends and sent them off to animals in need.
If you would be interested in helping out, you can find all the information
HERE

Here's our Ambassadors this year.
Stop in and visit them!
