The Island Batik Ambassador challenge this month is all about "Baby".
There's nothing as bright and fun for baby, than a "blankie" make with these great fabrics.
I used my "Accuquilt GO" owl die for the animals on this quilt.
You've gotta love that you can use this one die, to make all these animals and more.
The ric-rac border is a new die that I treated myself to.
I see lots of possibilities with this die in future projects.
Part of the fun of batiks, are how well they play together. The pinwheels are make from "Pressed Petals" line. I used a stamp pack (5" squares) for them.
The background and borders are from the "Blushing Blooms" line.
The tight weave of batik fabrics makes them a perfect fit for not only fusible applique, but also those quilts that will be washed over and over again.
I had to take it outside in the sunshine to show off, just how fabulous the colors in these fabrics really are!
You can check out all the new lines at Island Batik
Til next time...
Keep on Stitchin'
