Fabric Fix

Being cooped up for so long just stinks.
I know your as tired of it all as I am.
My quilt retreat to Lancaster PA was cancelled, and not that I needed a thing...
but Lancaster is the greatest place to go fabric shopping!
Quilt shops were closed, JoAnn's fabric, Hobby Lobby closed.
What little Wal-Mart had, was long gone with the mask making craze going on.
No place to even tough or feel something new.
:-(
What is a quilter to do?????
Marshall Dry Goods, was the answer.
While so many companies were taking a month or better
to get their orders shipped, Arkansas didn't seem to have
the strict quarantine orders the rest of the country did.
I've ordered twice since all this started and it took about a week for both orders.

When I saw their email about novelty prints...I just could't help myself.

Duck Dynasty fabrics will be made into masks for the annual
"Ducks Unlimited" banquet.

but for the rest...
I do love my coffee..and this "Saturday Evening Post Grateful for Coffee" Fabric...
and this Audrey Hepburn style "Fabulous Best Friends" fabric is too much fun!
But lets face it, "The Power of Wine" just speaks to my soul!
hahahahaha
Everyone loves Olaf, right?
These "House Dogs" will be great for Kennel Quilts.
My all time favorite is the "Keebler Elves".
I have no idea just what the heck I am going to do with these funny fabrics,
but I love em.
With the exception of the Duck Dynasty fabrics, there is a yard of everything.
Any suggestions????
I'd love to hear them.
BUT WAIT
I was just proof reading this post and there was a knock at the door.
A box of fabric from a friend, who knows me "waaaaaay" to well!
LOL!!
Ironic as it is, she used a "Keebler" box!
You know you just can't make this stuff up.
Thank you Laura, your awesome.

til next time...
Keep on Stitchin'

  2. Goodville Fabric Outlet in Lancaster County has had that Duck Dynasty fabric on clearance for a long time. I’ve mostly done curbside pick up from my local quilt store, but my cousin in Lancaster did shop a closing shop and ship to me.

  3. You can't make it up! I am sorry your trip is cancelled. I am beginning to loose it being home, but trying to concentrate on all the fun things I have to do. I miss my friends and I miss things being a bit easier. That being said, I am glad to have done what we needed and will continue to do it. I grew up in Reading PA and love that area!

  4. Your new fabrics are absolutely great for a quilter who loves having fun. Can't wait to see what you do with them. I thought of you and your annual retreat in Lancaster while events everywhere were being canceled. We'll all hope for a better year next year.

  6. Trust you to find the right place to get hold of fabrics. That is one thing we don't seem to have run out of. They are fun fabrics so I am sure you will find a purpose for them.
I agree that we are all tired of being stuck at home and I was really impressed when I heard today that New Zealand is dropping all restrictions in their country as they have no active cases and no reports for over 2 weeks. I hope we can do that soon in our country. Some of our states have, but mine is not one.

  7. I have shopped with Marshall Dry Goods in the past. You found some delightful fabrics to play with...mask making for sure out of some. I managed to do some online fabric shopping and added to an already overloaded stash. But it cheered me up a bit.

  8. Our Joann's has been open throughout the pandemic and I am grateful for it. That store was deemed "essential" here in Northern California.
I snap up all the MLP fabric I find. Novelty prints are so much fun!
