If it's "creepy" and it's "spooky", it has to be Carol's "Ghastly Ghouls" blog hop time.
You likely know that Carol, Carla and I, are all Halloween crazy and lets just say...
Thanks Carol, for bringing out the kid, in all of us.
Did that scare the "bejeebers" out of you?
Possibly this "Ghost"...
or "Bat" would do the trick!
When they are combined they are all together 'ooky, don't you agree?
This is one of Angie's patterns from her "Applique Garden " website.
There are always 6 or 7 quilts going on at a time and new blocks
are released weekly.
She has such fun patterns, that I have subscribed to it for years.
You can check it out for yourself HERE.
With it being the "Ghastly Ghouls" blog hop, I do have a little giveaway.
You may remember that I went "Java Jacket" crazy last month over on the
"Thermoweb" blog.
This one, done in my favorite "Ghastly" fabric, just begged to be given
away during this hop. Leave me a comment, telling me your most "Ghastly" Halloween delight, and I will pick one winner,
Sunday Oct 31st.
I'm just sending the "jacket", because it fits in an envelope, so this time even if your international you can participate in the drawing.
You can find my post with a free pattern for these jackets HERE
Now be off with you, to visit my fellow "Ghastly Ghouls" bloggers and see what trouble they are stirring up today!

Fantastic quilt, Joan, and the Java Jacket is cool too. The patchwork in the quilt really sets off the other blocks. I think the "Boo" block is my favorite one. One Halloween when our girls were little, we took them trick or treating, and one of them was wearing a really ugly witch mask. Another little girl saw Sarah and was scared off the porch we were all on. We felt sorry for that little girl then, but now we have a little family joke about being scared off the porch. I guess you had to be there to see the humor in it. LOL.
ReplyDeleteYou quilt is very cool - love it -- will be checking out Angie's patterns today!! When my grandkids were little, I made their costumes - it was fun making Dorothy, Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion - Thanks for the Java Jacket!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Joan!! I LOVE that quilt! It is definitely all together ooky!! LOL Now I have an earworm!! Ahhh, the joys of childhood TV theme songs!! Love the Ghastly Java Jacket!! And thanks for the pattern! My favorite ghastly Halloween delight would have to be seeing the littles' costumes!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I don't know how you do it - always an amazing quilt for the hop. What a fun quilt and perfectly scary and cute! Of course I love those eyes in the Boo! Your "Java Jackets" are fantastic too. You know my favorite Halloween delight is watching it through my granddaughter's eyes. She loves Halloween so much.
ReplyDeleteLove it Joan, especially the "eyes" on the quilt. Your Java Jacket is cute too, but if you happen to choose me for the winner, you can pass it along to someone else because I don't drink coffee and never have, but I love looking at it.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this is so creepy cool...love it! You seem to find the best Halloween patterns out there and then whip them right up with the speed of a witch with her broom on fire. That's why you rock my world! I'm already a lucky owner of your fabulous java jackets...lucky me! Thank you for sharing your ghoulish projects!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun Quilt!! Perfect for Halloween!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully creepy quilt, I love it! And those java jackets are perfect. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I am a GHASTLY fan and have every design they've come out with!! My favorite family ever!! Every scrap is used!! Now the only Ghastly thing that happened to me was a friend decided to make a surprise visit and when I opened the door (thought was kids) there was a grown man with a terrifying mask on! Had no idea who it was and slammed the door quickly. Mystery fan that I am, it Scared years off of me. He never did that again I can tell you. Thanks for sharing all your clever appliques with me ... I'm an 84 applique fanatic!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a spooktacular quilt.
ReplyDeleteFun blocks and the quilt is great. Love that Java Jacket. Thanks for the chance to win. My absolute favourite ghastly delight is pumpkin seeds. I slow roast them with a little seasoning salt and then munch, munch, munch. I learned years ago to roast in batches at least a day apart. Otherwise, I would eat all of them at once and that would have a ghastly result. lol
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is awesome and definitely "ooky". My ghastly delight has to be Reese's peanut butter ghosts and bats. It's probably just my imagination, but I think they taste better than Reese's PB cups. Your posts are always so entertaining. I can only imagine how much fun you would be in real life.
ReplyDeleteSo cute, I love everything about it.
ReplyDeleteMy ghastly delight is sitting on my porch dressed up as a witch waiting for the Trick-or-Treaters. Your quilt is altogether "ooky"!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the Halloweeniest quilt I have seen! I would love to crawl under it. Ghastly's Java Jacket is so perfect for this fun month, although I am sure I and you, the Halloween crazy ones, would use it all year long :D
ReplyDelete-Soma
I really love your quilt also. The Java jacket is really cute as well.
ReplyDeleteYour Ghastlier wrap is amazing! I love those prints! I really like Halloween quilts too! My Ghastlier moment …..eating all the candies my kids turned their noses up at! Lol
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to try out your pattern! Love the "Java Jacket" title. :) Ghastlier moments....hmmmm... I'm not too spooked by much... with exception of scary mcrvies that include children as the creepers, The Ring Scared me so Much That I couldn't get up to turn off the tv!!! .
ReplyDeleteOOKY describes it well. I love Halloween and you 3 amigos keep it fun and ooky for all of us.
ReplyDeleteYou know whats scary, 410 trick or treaters. That was my highest count when I lived in NJ. I really miss them. I would take the day off from work so I could catch the little ones around lunch time and had kids, teens and adults until curfew at 9.
Wow lets try this again. Fabulous quilt and the eyes really make it awesome! You always have such neat projects.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the ear worm and the wonderful eye candy! My halloween delight is eating candy - all the kinds I don't eat all year long!
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting rid of my bejeebers! Those things are tough to toss out! =) Your adorable quilt did it, though.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt and all the fun on your blog! I love Halloween and my birthday is just before so I really love to have a Halloween party and dress up and hand out candy. This year I am going to be a wizard- professor sprout from Happy Potter books. :) Thank you for the fun giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely fabulous halloweeny quilt.
ReplyDeleteAdorable Halloweeny Quilt. My favorite memory was when my girl's were to big to go trick or treating, we would decorate our porch and dress up to hand out candy to all the little kids.
ReplyDeleteHi Joan! Gosh, this Halloween quilt is just perfect for the season. Thanks for the link - I will definitely check it out. And thank you so much for the link to your java jacket!! I think I will definitely follow it and make a few for as gifts for the upcoming holiday. {{Hugs}} Happy Halloween! ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteJoan - you nailed it! This is just perfect for Halloween - well done!
ReplyDeleteI love the 'Boo' block! Those eyes are so cute (are you allowed to use the word 'cute' along with spooky Halloween??). I only ever went trick or treating twice - the last was as an adult and we decided we would get dressed up and visit a few relatives and friends. It was so far out of the realm of possibility of something we would do that nobody could guess who we were. I'll never forget dropping in on my not-yet-sister-in-law's and when she offered her bowl of candy to us, one of our troop helped herself to the entire bowl and dumped it into her treat bag. The expression on my STB SIL's face was absolutely priceless because at that point she didn't have a clue who we were. Of course we gave all the candy back once we revealed ourselves. Great fun!
ReplyDeleteI am just a week late in catching up. I always enjoy seeing what you are up to when Halloween comes around. You have a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt design. Works so well!
I agree, they are super ooky! Love them by themselves and together!
ReplyDeletejoan I loved all the spooky eye candy. I’m off to check out her patterns. Thank you for the fun giveaway with one of your fantastic creations.
