"Let the Sunshine In"
I have to admit I was at a loss for this hop. I just didn't have any idea what I was going to do, until my friend Joi, brought me a charm pack she had, had in her stash for awhile. Seeing the fun prints and bright colors was just the inspiration I needed.
Once again, I surfed clip-art online, and found this sweet little sun for the center to bring it all together.
Digging thru my stash, I found a backing fabric that was perfect. Not only was it wildly bright, but it was the exact size I needed. What are those odds? LOL!!
I finally got my "mo-jo" back after working on this. As I was stitching the last of the binding down, I remembered a pattern I had bought a few years ago.
The timing was tight, but "Sweet Pea" was a trooper at entertaining herself long enough for...
..."Beach Bums" or as I like to refer to it "Beach Buns" to come to life!
The pattern, from Hoffman Fabrics can be found HERE.
What speaks more of the "sun" than a bunch of old lady butts hanging out at the beach?Let's face it, I could be any one of these ole broads...
LOL!!
Dare I ask, what butt do you identify with?
Regardless, all butts are welcome to hang out at the ole car pond with me!
Be it butts or be it sunshine in you neighborhood. I wish you all a great summer.
A big shout out to Carol for hosting this hop! When else could I even dream of posting my butt online!

Great stuff Joan. I love the sunshine road, and definitely recognized myself in the beach scene, not the bikini though. Have a wonderful day.

The Beach Bunnies toasting their Buns in the Sun made my day!!! I hope I can be one of them, at the seaside with my peeps in my foxy lil' swimsuit!! Thanks so much!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun projects, Joan! The bright sunny quilt will bring the sun wherever it goes. And those Beach Buns are a kick! I love all the details in that one. Has me giggling over it.
ReplyDeleteThose beach ladies are so fun! I could be either of the ladies in one piece suits. I’m not a bikini or thong fan!
ReplyDeleteOne quilt is colorful and one quilt is hilarious! I remember the first time I saw that quilt of the women's bums was when I was in Oregon for the quilt show there years ago and there was another similar quilt of women sitting on a fence wearing jeans, cowgirl style "Bums", lol! Such a fun quilt and you are the queen of making us laugh with your quilts, Joan!
ReplyDeleteBoth your quilts are fantastic! The sun quilt is so cheery and the beach buns, while hitting a bit too close to home, is hysterical!
ReplyDeleteLove both of your projects, but especially the Beach Buns!
ReplyDeleteI'm smiling as I type! The beach quilt is hilarious. I really like your sunny quilt as well. Thank you for sharing. :o)
ReplyDeleteThe beach ladies just make me giggle! And your sunshine quilt is so sweet for baby cuddles!

ReplyDeleteOMG, you know fat bottom girls make the rockin' world 'round right? I love them. But I also love your sunny quilt. Thanks for the smile.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous is an understatement for that sunny quilt...wow! It was so nice of Joi to share those little fabric pretties with you. I'm definitely the purple hat lady in the middle. You did a great job capturing my backside. Thanks for sharing beauty and funny all in one this morning!
ReplyDeleteYou always make me laugh, Joan! I love both projects, but especially that last one! Glad you got your mojo back!! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the summer wishes. Even when HOT, I love summers - no coats and more daylight. I love both of your projects - the first one is so darn happy and bright - perfect for the hop. I absolutely love that second project, though. Is there anything better than big, old buns/bums on the beach. It's definitely one of those projects I, too, can identify with. I don't do thongs but I do love the tatoo. Ohhh, goodness, I can't choose the one that would be me. The backsides all look too close to mine!!
ReplyDeleteLove both of your quilts.
ReplyDeletebutts quilt.. best ever !!! (so much work, but totally worth it !!!)

ReplyDeleteLove the sun quilt, the bright colors and the backing is fabulous. But the beach bums is awesome. Definitely not the bikini or thong one. LOL Great projects.
