New Blog Hop Challenge in August

As we wrap up our "For the Birds" Challenge hop this month, I want to thank all our bloggers, who soared to great heights with the projects they shared.
It makes me proud to be a part of this great quilting community we have online.
While we strive to bring you a positive experience every month, sometimes things don't go as planned. We had some late dropouts and a couple of no-shows. For that I do apologize.

On to a more positive note...August is coming and we will be spending this hop in the JUNGLE!

Challenge: Animals, plants, trees…what’s in your jungle?

For some of us, it might even be our sewing rooms.
LOL!!

If you would like to play along drop me an email

You don't need to be a blogger to participate. If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, you are welcome to join in on the fun. Just make sure you tag your posts with the blog hop name.

Here's how the hops work...

We have a schedule of monthly themes that we release at the beginning of the year.
We open the signup's about 2 months prior to each hop, to give you plenty of time to make your project.
When we get your email asking to play along, you will get a reply with your day to play.

About 2 weeks before the hop, we send out the complete schedule for the hop with links for everyone.
We do ask that you check your link and make sure it is correct. For those who have websites, we have heard from enough readers, that they want to be directed to the hop post directly and not have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get to the project. Add a link in your post to direct them to your website or shop.
  • Complete your project and write a post.
  • Photos make all the difference. The bigger the better for some of our old eyes! LOL!! Think outside the box and show us "in progress" photos. We all love to see them.
  • Include the list of fellow bloggers on your day in your post. It makes it so much easier for our readers to be able to hop from post to post.
  • Publish your post by Midnight Eastern Standard Time. We do have global readers, so we strive to keep consistency in posting times. Blogs and Facebook have options to schedule posts in advance. (Not sure that Instagram does) Earlier is definitely better than being late.
  • You can choose to include a tutorial or a give-away if you like, but it is not required.
  • Life happens and we understand if you are not able to complete your project. Show us your progress anyway.
  • Comment, comment, comment. We have definitely seen a drop in comments in the past year. It's that interaction that keeps our community alive. We all love a compliment, so share the love and make someones day.
  • We do ask that if you sign up, you put it on your calendar so you don't forget. Our readers do not forget no-shows.
If for any reason you haven't heard from us, do not hesitate to reach out to us. We strive to "get it right" the first time, but things do happen. Spam filters have been known to cause issues from time to time, as well.

You can download the years hop theme's HERE

We are always thinking ahead. Do you have project you've been chomping at the bit to work on? Leave us a comment, telling us what theme you would like to see for next year? You might just be the inspiration of the month!

 til next time...

 Keep on Stitchin'

  3. Joan, I was thinking that I would love to see a string/strip theme next year. I think you've done it before, but you could challenge us to use several strips of a totally "ugly" fabric in our creation. In addition, maybe one month we can all sew for a higher purpose...you pick the charity. It could be small things like zippered pouches for a domestic abuse shelter, dog/cat bed rolls for a shelter, or placemats for Meals on Wheels. You could give us a theme for those and let us do our thing but we would send it to an address you give us.
